The 1rst page of the account of the going of Dr Maskelyne's new Chronometer No. 309 made by Mr J Earnshaw, 1 February 1800 - 10 April 1811. The ambition of this account was to prove the superior accuracy of this Chronometer in order to determine the Longitude at sea.
