" 'Mr. Shardeloe' is mentioned in Letter 860, 22 May 1702 (in vol. 2)as the bearer of that letter from Flamsteed to Sir John Worden. He has evidently just visited Flamsteed and had been permitted to see draft star-charts for the Atlas coelestis as 'he has more skill then most of our Sea Captains, and apprehends well some of the Uses they will be of in Navigation'."
